How rich this time has been for me. How Inspiring the willingness is to question what seems intrinsically to be “ordinary life”—that suffering must be expected. How revolutionary it is to say, “there has to be a better way” whenever the slightest tinge of pain or burden is felt. It takes courage to see our true responsibility is in asking the Comforter for help. How refreshing it is to simply spend time with those devoted to having an open mind, who welcome the Grace of the unknown in laying down the world as they see it at the feet of the Beloved, in order to accept their true inheritance.

I read this quote today and it summed up my time here and the deep one-to-ones I have been having.

“Many of us spend our whole lives running from feeling with the mistaken belief that you can not bear the pain. But you have already borne the pain. What you have not done is feel all you are beyond that pain.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

We understand that sickness is a defense—but against what? I believe we stop there and never fully look at what the fear is really of. We fear that somehow there would be greater pain and suffering beyond what we are currently experiencing—which we can just about manage. We believe that even our slight malaise or discontent is a dam against a tsunami of grief, rage and attack. Yet this “death threat” idea lasts but a moment when we sit with a mighty companion and look upon our lives.

With a gentle loving gaze we see—it is not as we fear—it is not our fault! There is no need for ricocheting blame, only an invitation to lay down our arms and receive the Correction. The gift of lilies offer us everything we want. Forgiveness is purification without shame. We question the belief in wrong doing in order to accept the Comforter. We are choosing “right mindedness.” With this purpose out front we need not know why the spark draws us together. It is sufficient to connect as Given and to allow the Spirit to Guide this seminal feeling—this glimpse of Release. This awareness of Love’s Presence.
