inner Welcome
At the crack of dawn on Sunday morning words started to stream though my mind. I grabbed my iPhone and recorded where I lay, watching the light dance through the curtains. So this is an impromptu imperfect audio that speaks of Perfection!
The last thing I say is: This is The Ark. As I tried to clean up the audio I wondered if that was “appropriate” and immediately found an #ACIM Quote that referred to the same expression!
…It’s all for me. 🙂

Mystical Container – Transcript
PODCAST INTRO
Welcome to this Mystic Life podcast. A podcast that aims to look at the world differently with total responsibility for sight.
Cocoon Container This is The ARK – This Mystic Life PODCAST
I think it’s very helpful to understand that you create a container by your Welcome for relationship with the Holy Spirit. You create a container through which you live your seeming life. And when you understand that, it produces immediately an incredible amount of defensiveness that you feel towards your daily living.
And if you can incorporate your experience of—if you’re a student of A Course in Miracles—the lesson you’re on, the chapter you’re reading, or the forgiveness opportunity that you’re embracing.
Then in every moment. As you; wash the dishes, as you put in the laundry, as you drive to your job, as you pick up your kids from school, as you cook the dinner, if you can involve that sense of contemplation, and welcome it through every moment of your life. You’ll begin to be able to focus the mind in a way that instead of being hyper-vigilant against the ego, and fear, and outcomes in form and attack—instead of wasting our focus and energy on that need for defense against, we bring our focus sublimely into Presence and Welcome for the Vision of the Holy Spirit.
And that’s when you come into a very alive and lit experience of what A Course in Miracles teaches us in the in the very first few lessons, which are wonderful to repeat. Lessons 1 to 20 just to keep that reorientation of what this is. This is a Course in mind training that aims to withdraw the meaning you have invested in the world. To cleanse it of that perspective of fear, and to shine it into the Holy Spirit’s use for everything, which is Forgiveness. And suddenly everything has a sparkle and a shine about it.
And this attention that you give, may at times not seem to come easily. It may seem to involve at the beginning, some sense of concentration. But this “transfer of training” is really what the workbook of A Course in Miracles in its beautiful subliminal teaching is aiming to invite you into.
It’s important to step away from the book and to be Living A Course in Miracles, to be living this experience of being done through. To notice the tension, the routines and the repeat patterns that keep us conforming to an alien will that is not our own. Your will and God’s are One. So you are not yielding to another. That is the absolute beauty of the teaching of A Course in Miracles.
You are embracing the highest will that is Your’s! With the most beneficent viewpoint on what is truly helpful for yourself, and everyone around you. And in doing that there is an incredible relief, and restoration to certainty, that all is well, that everything is Forgiven.
And so I thought I’d talk a little about that now. What that is, that Welcome and how we create that container. I would say a vessel for Awakening is a cocoon of intent, and it is a spaciousness that you draw around yourself wherever you appear to be.
It is those extra seconds you add, and allow a reverence before you react. A pause before you complete a task, and a quiet solitude that cocoons you from the world of people, and things, and places and activities around you. And when you allow that cocoon—and in fact Welcome that cocoon of Presence to sublimely encapsulate your experience of everything—then you move through the world with a Grace that seems to remove every stone upon your, path that you may stumble on.
And yet it does not mean you will not meet obstacles along your path. But again, they’re only to amplify the cocoon of that prayerful pause, that going to Spirit to be shown, rather than reaching to the past to understand, and correlate and conjugate and an understanding that’s deeply rooted in fear, and fable, and fallacy.
As we unwind from false cause and effect, that the world is cause and we are an effect of it. We come into a state of invulnerability in the mind, which truly accepts, and understands and witnesses to the fact that we are, “under no laws but Gods.”
When we do that, when we give ourselves that spaciousness, that cocoon, that Relationship comes by our Welcome. It does not wait on time. It definitely does not wait on circumstances. There is no better time. There is no better moment than now, to incorporate this experience into your life.
It really is a sense of expansiveness. When you lean into the moment and out of the perception of time, time seems to expand. And suddenly through the power of prayer, there is an ease and a flow that comes.

When we can allow ourselves as we begin to practice this Presence in our daily lives, to notice that the only thing that you will find that buffers against it, will be “your perception” of; other people, other needs, other tempos, other timelines—of what you imagine—and this is the critical point—what you imagine is needed from you.
And that’s where the healing in mind comes in. Because the Forgiveness opportunity is in seeing that you have put in place all those conditions that are fearful. You have imagined into being all of those requirements to reinforce a self-concept that you experience yourself to be, and feel safe being, even if you don’t like it! You feel safe being that self-concept, that persona, that mask, that persona, that role in your family, that role in your society.
“Oh, he’s a really good guy. He’s trustworthy. Oh yeah, he’s consistent.” And when that imagined need that they have for you to be consistent, in a certain way, or a certain role, starts to loosen, you may at first get rebukes. You may at first experience yourself as being “unfairly treated.”
But with your intention of this cocoon, that this going for Peace and Presence and the Truth of Whom You Are, knowing that it is to serve the whole, that no one is excluded, that it is to truly to find that beneficent connection, to everyone rather than to push them away and avoid them, and disregard them.
No one here is abandoned. Instead, we are actually abandoning ourselves to God, to that True Holy Relationship of the Father with the Son, the Father with the Child. We are the Child, and everyone is invited into this intimate relationship. And if those around you seem to have a desire to also understand, or relate in this new Way, you can welcome them into this experience by your demonstration.
Yet first you need to be demonstrating this for yourself to be convinced. It can’t be a “figuring this out together.” It appears one must go first into the experience, and then by your demonstration of certainty in the Truth of Who You Are. That is placing a wedge and making Way like Moses opening the Red Sea, and parting the waves. You are making Way where it appears there is no way for spaciousness and Presence and prayer and a scintillating experience of being Beloved.
Having even tasted just a little bit of that experience, it becomes enthralling and you wouldn’t want to live any other Way. Then if you ever find yourself trapped in the tempo of some seeming consideration, or some seeming external force that drives your mind back into the fear response mode, you still will have within the cocoon that you have welcomed sufficient Presence to notice that, witness to it and not condemn it.
It is your lack of judgment that allows that loop of a pattern repeating in your life—when there is something that hooks you, and gets you involved, and gets you frazzled—you will be able to notice that loop. And through your non-judgment of “the character” that you think you are, through the character you think they all are, through that non-judgment, you will be able to very gently restore the mind to that rest as it watches, and the loop will seem to complete.
It’s very important to understand that you never get out of a loop by trying to change it. You can only allow a loop to close by completely understanding what this eddy, what this swirl, what this oxbow lake that seems to have taken you off into a corner, and out of the flow of the river is trying to tell you, and teach you about yourself.
And again, the lesson is only learned if you are watching with the Holy Spirit. The ego has its own lessons to teach. The Holy Spirit’s lesson is easy to experience because you recognize that it is revealing something to you, that you previously misunderstood about yourself, that is relieving!
It is a relief to be Corrected by the Holy Spirit.
It is a breath of fresh air.
It’s phew!
If you are watching with the ego, you will also notice that you are berated, and condemned and cast aside. You are considered persona non grata (unacceptable or unwelcome person in a role often of diplomacy)
And so it is our attachment to the teacher we look with, that first needs to be questioned.
I have noticed a very common thing amongst Course students, that when their focus is on the ego, the ego, the ego, and what the ego is doing, they are involved in a lot of interpersonal factions, fighting and debate. And when they recognize the futility of that and that vigilance for the ego is not noticing, that you are not with the Spirit. The vigilance against the ego is in noticing, “Oh I’m not with the Spirit!” That you must adroitly, directly turn your attention towards the Spirit the “Do only that” of the Course. And there, rest and listen and watch the interplay of the drama, and the debate, and the debacle, that you were previously involved, in because you thought you had to fight (correct) the ego.
Don’t fight the ego.
The ego loves that.
What we want to do is withdraw our investment in the mechanisms of the mind when it is deceived, and draw gently back to the safety of right mindedness, watching with the Vision of the Holy Spirit.
Yes, perception is being purified and Vision will not be your consistent experience when you seem to begin on this path. And yet at any moment, by your decision, Vision can be all you see! The Holy Instant is a portal of Presence. It is the direct line right into sublime right-mindedness and Vision of the Holy Spirit. It remains available at any time.
You cannot prepare for the holy instant. You definitely do not want to strive or struggle, to reach or attain it “as if” it is above, or beyond you. This is a sinking back into, a yielding to Presence and a desire to simply see things differently.
Because if the world that you perceive is harsh, harassing and holding back from you the abundance that is your right, your inheritance as a Child of God, then you want to retire from that world, from the thinking of that world and retrace your steps to the world you want. Beyond this world, there is a world I want.
That is the Real World! That is what the Vision of the Holy Spirit will show you. If you can reclaim that entitlement to miracles and allow them to be welcomed into your life, because you’ve sufficiently unpeeled your little fingers from the grasp you have on what you consider to be reality.
A reality that you are maintaining. A world that you do not want that is actually against yourself. It is even against your self-concept, but because it reinforces it sufficiently to maintain an identity that you feel familiar—with I wouldn’t even say comfortable with—then you have a tight little grasp on it.
As we in our daily life create this cocoon of Presence around us, allowing ourselves to be welcomed deeper into what is True and Eternal. Then this spaciousness can be the space from which you witness the world. It is not dependent on being a mystic in a cave, or living in a monastery, or hiking out into the wilderness to be by yourself. All of those things can be very supportive for a mind that is beginning to welcome and sink into these experiences. And yet ultimately, as the Course says, “You will be sent on many busy doings.”
What we are really looking for is a way to envelop our sense of Self an experience in this cocoon of radiant Presence. That is the demonstration. That is the teaching. That is what extends when we encounter one another. That is our influence if anything on the seeming time space world around us, to introduce Eternity. And when we bring the darkness to the Light in our everyday life, continuously transforming our experience as we wander this world, then it is a gift to be in the Presence of that one, because they are extending a state of Heaven, a state of certainty. That they are a Child of God, and certainty that you are also!
So why wait for heaven? Heaven is here now. Allow yourself to be imbued with the Presence that will teach you of Itself. That you are Beloved and that you belong in an eternal way as a Child of God.
And so we begin.
This moment—this is The Ark, the tabernacle of the Holy Relationship where God would welcome you in!
Enjoy practicing and playing with this idea.
Don’t make it another to-do on your list.
We have to remember everything is “ta-done!”
Love, Sarah
ACIM & Biblical Light Body References
“It is an ark of safety, resting on God’s promise that His Son is safe forever in Himself. ⁶What gap can interpose itself between the safety of this shelter and its Source? ⁷From here the body can be seen as what it is, and neither less nor more in worth than the extent to which it can be used to liberate God’s Son unto his home. ⁸And with this holy purpose is it made a home of holiness a little while, because it shares your Father’s Will with you.”
—A Course in Miracles (T-28.VII.7:5-8 )
The Light of the body is the eye:
if therefore thine eye be single,
thy whole body shall be full of light.
