Tracing the Shell

In mysticism, shells symbolize listening, beauty, and spiritual connection, often representing the journey between the physical and spiritual realms. They are used in various rituals and practices, embodying themes of femininity, intuition, and the mysteries of life.

On the Camino de Santiago in Spain, the scallop shell marks The Way. Representing the pilgrims journey, returning from the mountains to the sea.

Tracing the spirals of the shell we see the precise repeating pattern of the nautilus. The Fibonacci sequence is followed perfectly where each chamber’s size flows in sequential expansion, creating a spiral shape. This rhythmic repeating pattern draws awareness towards the center. A mesmeric winding way inward seen in much Spiritual art.
